Boxers and babies

My wife and I are due to have our baby in April. We have two boxers - Izzy who is about 3 years old and Sophia who is 2 years old. My question is how do boxers do with babies? Izzy is a nervous nelly as it is and Sophia is a cuddler. I think they will be good sisters but I was wondering if anyone has any stories

Just thought I'd share my story about my boxer 'Jade' and a special baby.

My niece was born in June of 2003 with a fatal disease so she only weighed 4lbs 2 oz when she was born, anyways by the time my sister was brave enough to bring my niece out of the house and to mine (which was when my niece was about 1 1/2 months and down to about 3 lbs) Jade was 7 months old and had never seen a baby before. That baby came into my house and Jade absolutely fell inlove with her instantly, she softly kissed my niece's face and wouldn't leave her side. Everytime my niece made a noise Jade had to put her face to the baby's to make sure she was alright and then she'd kiss her again. I thought that maybe Jade somehow knew that this baby was extra special because she wasn't going to be with us long and that's why she was so good with her. Then this last May I got another niece and since the one time meeting with my other niece, Jade still hasn't seen another baby but as soon as she met Aubrey she was just as sweet and full of kisses for this baby too. I think boxers just have a good sense that baby's are fragile and that they need to be careful.

Well, I have 2 male boxers, Joe *(3) & Charlie (almost 2). We also have a 5 month old baby. Joe pays her absolutely no mind whatsoever. Charlie is a bit unruly (always has been) and pays her too much attention. I am having a problem with him licking her face and mouth while she is in her stationary entertainer (shes at perfect eye level to him) and he just stands there and licks her face until one of us pulls him off of her. I dont think hes trying to "eat" her or anything like that, but it is extremely annoying. But then again, Charlie has always been a kisser, so maybe thats just him. I am looking for suggestions from anyone here that has experienced the same problem.
Overall though, the dogs have been GREAT with her. Our household is a madhouse between the baby and the dogs, but hey, I guess it keeps us young??? (thats what I keep telling myself). We never excluded them from anything we do with our baby, and I think that helps. We try and incorporate them into the fun we have with her. It makes it hard sometimes, but overall its beneficial to our daughter and the dogs. She now smiles at the boys whenever they come by her, so thats something to definitely look foward to.
Just a note that I am sure you have heard and will here again and again-never leave your dogs or anyones dogs alone with your baby, not even for a second. No bad experiences here, but its just a good habit to get into.

Just some thoughts about boxers and babies...
I have two boxers, no babies....
but a good friend of mine has two American Bulldogs (big horses, both of them, 120 lbs each), and she had a premie baby with some medical problems. My friend is with her son all the time. When I went to visit last week, one of the dogs growled at me when I payed attention to the baby, but he growls at me if I'm not petting him all the time when I'm there anyway!! He is definitely the dominant guy. The other guy, the one who has been there the longest, watched me all the time as I picked up his "little brother". One dog is protective of the baby, the other is protective but wants the attention more that anything!!
The most important thing, as mentioned on the previous post, is no matter how much you trust them, never let your pups alone with the baby. Period.
On the other hand, you could never find a better babysitter/securitydog system!!
