Someone once told me that the womb is a very noisy place :) Our male was a barker too, but he never disturbed or even woke up our little girl. I really do believe that everything will be fine. :)

My mom had me when they also had Keenya, a 2yr old female. That is one reason that I am getting a puppy now. She was so protective of me, not letting any strangers near me. She actually tried to attack a stranger that she did not know, but was trying to prevent me from falling on my head. My mom had to grab at her collar, and she said that she had never seen her with her teeth barred and snarling at someone. Then there were the times that I would lay on the floor, chewing on her ears (have pictures of that somewhere), she wandered the neighborhood with me, and my parents never had to worry. She actually knew that I could not go in the road, so she would always herd me back to the house. I hope that your baby gets to grow up with the memories like I have had with her. ;)

Ronin and Sorca~Thank you for your insight.

I think the barking bothers me more than it bothers the babies in my tummy. I also know that as the weather changes soon there will be less people outside and less for the dogs to bark at. :) I know they are just doing their job but holy moly the barking is bad!

OMG - our last male barked everthing! He never scared her with all his comotion or even woke her up. She's five yrs old now and she has Ronin. They are the best of friends and just adore each other. He follows her around outside and sleeps by her bed every night. There's not a doubt in my mind that he'll always watch out for her and protect her too. :)

I am so thankful for this board!
We were wondering the same thing about Laila and our newborn (due April 07).
She seems to understand when I get too winded and can't run and play with her. I hope that she and the new baby will be great friends.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
