We where at the vet on Saturday becuase Izzy just was not right. just not acting like a boxer, no energy, she has a swollen belly anyway after some test the doctor said Izzy has a Heart problem and it will be about a week before we can do a echocardiogram done. I just hate the thought of having to wait a week and being helpless. In helpless I mean not being able to get her started on something to help her. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

Diesel also had a heart murmur, however I don't know the grade. They said slight, so I guess that explains it?

He had another check up today, and the heart murmur is gone. :)

Is her belly swollen because she is retaining fluid? You really need that echo before anything else can be done-I assume that is the first appointment?

Yes her belly is swollen because retaining fluid. That was the first time this vet had open for the echo. I have been making calls to see if I can get Izzy in quicker somewhere else. I also had a nice long talk with the vet yesterday and told him I cannot set around and do nothing. He strated Izzy on water pills for the swollen belly. Also started (forget the name on the pill) anyway to help her relax. I took her on a little walk last night and Izzy really started to act better.

Good -getting that fluid out will make her feel better right away. I would keep trying to get her in sooner but if you can't restrict her activity until you can. And hang in there-meds may make all the diference once you can get her evaluated. I would also watch her and if she starts retaining fluid again have your vet drain it again. That will relieve the strain on her heart. Thinking good thoughts for you and your baby.

Frankie had her first check-up and jabs today, and the vet thinks she might have a slight murmur. He said it can go away after a while in puppies. We will have to wait and see.

This site is so great as now I don't feel alone with my concerns.

Hope this other puppy is ok.
