Whats the average weight for a nine week Boxer... Roxy just went to the Vet and she weighs 13lbs. I don't know if thats good, bad or average. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I dont think there is an average, because all dogs grow up at different speeds and sizes. Miles is currently 10 weeks old and already weighs 20 lbs. It really depends on how big your dog is. If you can see her ribs good then she is probably the perfect weight

Puppy weight

Hi,
Your pup sounds very solid. Just had my "Abbey", who is 9-weeks old, to the vet and she weighed 10.6 pounds. She was 7.4 at 6-weeks old. My vet said she looks great and is right on target. I feed her 1/2 cup three times a day and said to keep her on this regimen.

I beleive that to be a healthy weight,my Buddy was 19lbs at 10 wks. now at 3 mo. 2 wks. he is 30 lbs.He will be a big boy to be sure. But his pop was a muscle with teeth also.

That seems healthy. My newest baby is 10 weeks and weighs 11lbs the vet didn't seem to be worried by it.

Wilson is 15 weeks old and was 23.6 pounds yesterday (he could be 24 pounds by now :p ). He has been growing a steady 2 pounds a week since we got him, but I think this week he's gonna grow like 3 cause he already went up 1.8 pounds in 4 days (I know all this cause I go to petsmart a lot and weigh him everytime hehe)!! He has been eating more than usual this week so that's why :)

I think as long as they look good and the vet says they are a good weight then you're ok. It is totally fine for Boxer puppies to look a bit skinny (where you can still see their ribs a little) cause they will start to fill out soon enough!

Congrats on your new baby - have fun! :D

Hi

I have a 6 month old boxer just at 50lbs. I can see some rib, but he is not thin, Is that normal, i have been trying to get an average for that age but cant find one, any thoughts. Thank you

An average weight for a puppy is a very difficult thing to measure, that's probably why ;) They grow at such vastly different rates, it really is difficult to give a meaningful indication of what's "normal" for a given age.

Generally speaking, boxers grow upward until they're around 14 months or so, but don't finish filling out until they're two or even three years of age. At 6 months and 50 lb, your boy sounds quite large, but he could also just be a fast grower (just like human kids, some grow quickly, some more slowly). His final adult height and weight will be determined by his genetics - and the best guide you have is the size of his parents, grandparents and any siblings.

Ideally, his final adult height (measured from the ground to the withers) will be between 23-25.5" and his weight between 66-70 lb.
