I work with the Florida Boxer Rescue. A dog in Pasco county was severly abused with a hammer and almost died. A letter has been written by one of the volunteers to send to the prosecuting attorney. Please take a moment to check out the letter and print it up, sign and mail it.

When we can show that others around the world care about animal abuse we can make a difference.

The site is
www.flbr.org

In the end I hope this poor guy makes it. Thanks for everyones help.

How horrible

Jennifer,
I have printed out the letters and I will be sending those letters out. The thing is it doesn't matter if it happened in my state because if we can change laws in one state that means we can help change them in others. I want to thank you for bringing such a serious issue to the forum because it's because of advocates that will help other dogs and animals like "Buster".
Sincerly,

What an absolutely terrible thing to have happen. That man deserves to have the same thing happen to him. I will send my letter.

Quick question

I wrote my letter to the State Attorney, but was wondering...do we send the same letter we wrote to him to the newspapers as well? Or do we send the newspapers a different letter?

Just saw your post, I forwarded it on to some of our volunteers...we'll send some letters out. I hope he gets some serious jail time...how can someone be so cruel? It makes me sick. Anyway, I hope buster? makes it through all his surgeries...good luck!

I applaud your efforts and hope that your officials realize that the constituents and voters of his/her community are serious about changing the law. Just a reference for you. There was a case in Virginia about a year ago. A man (and I use that term lightly) broke into his estranged girlfriend's house and stole her boxer. He then proceeded to tie it to the back of his truck with a chain and drag it until it died. The police report said the blood streak was close to a mile long. He too was only charged with a felony. If you want to read more about it, it's on the Virginia Paws website. I'm afraid I don't have the link, but if you go to Yahoo or another search engine, you should find it. I wish you luck and I will definitely contact my representatives.
