I had a brindle boxer Rebel. At the age of 4 he had a stroke and paralized his back legs for several months. He did regain usage of his legs again but they were never right. He also had severe arthritis in his spine. Has any one else heard of other boxers having strokes or arthritis in their spine?

Boxers are notorious for arthritic conditions, the one that comes to mind from your description is Spondylosis. A search on any engine would return numerous results. It is said to be genetic, but as you now know, that is argued between doctors.
This link explains more on the condition, symptoms listed near the bottom of the article.

The stroke sounds like an entirely different episode, concidental with the arthritis. I would definately look into that. Boxers are also known for many heart problems. Hope your boy feels better!!

Thank you for the web page, lots of info. It was very helpful.
Rebel passed away over a year ago. I want to learn all I can so we can find a good breeder. We didn't know about the arthritis until he had the stroke.
Thanks again
