Boxer Rescue Awareness Day Buffalo NY

Hi all,

Second Chance Boxer Rescue, from whom we adopted Bubba, holds several "BRADs" (Boxer Rescue Awareness Days.) We (Bubba & I) will be doing one for them on Saturday 1/29/05 at the Petsmart on Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga, NY. We'll be there from 11am until 1 or 2.

If you're in the neighborhood, stop by & say hello!

Hi Paula!!
I didn't know you were part of this board!!! I'll be there and will be bringing Clyde who's available for adoption through Second Chance... Of course we'll bring our Jasmine too since she gets jealous if Clyde goes somewhere without her!

If anyone isn't able to make it on Saturday we are also holding another Boxer Rescue Awareness Day on Sunday the 30th at the PetSmart on Transit Rd in Williamsville, NY. There are a lot more scheduled in surrounding states, check out our website listed in my signature!

Well, I did manage to sneak out of work for a little bit and meet the boxers.
I must say I was most impressed!
I had no idea what to expect and debated weather or not to bring my wildchild Ca$h. (honest, he DOES know how to behave in public)
I figured I'd bring him Sat and hopefully bring Sonji out to meet the gang on Sunday.
Paula had a beautiful display and was armed with information and handouts of available boxers. She answered so many questions from me and everyone that stopped because of intrest. There was a good size crowd and everyone loved the dogs.
I was surprised how few people knew what breed they were and were so curious to meet and touch them.
So many questions about size, ears, temperaments and health and Paula was so quick with the answers.
Her boy Bubba was a real sweatheart and took everyone in with open paws.He was so well behaved and mild mannered, just great with everyone.
Her assistant had a gorgeous white boy that is deaf and followed all his hand signals down to a T. People were impressed with his skills and learning abilities.
And then there was my Ca$h- who misbehaved and embarrassed me (as usual) He's a people dog and demanded that everyone get a huge hug from him. He even tried to make off with the donation jar and a ladys purse. Everything is play play play with him.
I apologize for his behavior and hope we didn't scare any potential adoptees from even considering the breed.

I'm sorry we missed you Stef. I had plans on bringing Sonji out to your day but we had a family emergency.

Hey Jill, Don't worry Oskar did the same thing to Michael and I on Sunday! All he wanted to do was play witht he other boxers! I guess Disney isn't doing it for him he wants the big dogs to play with!

Jenny, I never put two and two together on Sunday! I talked to you and your husband for quiet a while! My Jasmine and Oskar were loving each other!! Jasmine was the one that was giving Disney kisses while you were holding her!!

I'm so sorry I never even thought about a fellow boxerworld member being there! I really think we should get Oskar and Jazzy together, they really wanted to play with each other but your husband and I thought they would scare the rest of the PetSmart customers! If you ever want to get together for a play date let me know, I think they would become great friends!!

And Jill, I think I did meet you on Saturday. I was there with Paula for a while (from 11:30 to 1)... I had the petite girl with the pink polka dot collar. Jasmine was in rare form on Saturday so I didn't do much speaking with people... She was to interested in the birdies and hampsters to sit still!!
