Hi! I am in San Antonio but would not mind driving to Austin for a boxer play date at all! I have been taking my 2 to the dog park here in SA, and althought it is small, I am grateful for the socialization. You can e-mail me at ndivas@msn.com if you firm up a date or if I can help in any way.

We live in Cedar Park and are always interested in hanging out with other boxers. Let me know if you get something together. Deuce's favorite spot is Bull Creek.

We've actually never been there but would definitely be willing to check it out. Where is it located? Let me know when yall decide to meet and we'll try to join you. Deuce is recovering from an allergic reaction to something (hives all over his body) so hopefully he will be better in time to go play

It is funny you mention that - Sasha had an allergic reaction to something about 2 months ago...she had hives everywhere. First we thought she was being bitten by mosquitos and when we took her to the vet they explained she was allergic to something. Luckily she is completely better but we never figured out what happened! She is such a troublemaker though, who knows what she got into behind our backs...
Red Bud Isle is really easy to find. The address is 3401 Red Bud Trail and it's right off of Mopac...take the 1st Street/5th Street/Lake Blvd exit and it's 2 miles down the road. I can give you better directions later but maps.com does a good job of getting you there. It's more closed in than bull creek and still has the advantage of being on the water so they can romp around and get wet...

Oh okay, I think I know the place -- is that where there are always cars parked along the access road? I always wondered what was down there. If there is water, Deuce will love it -- he has a very unique swimming style.
As of last night, he was hive-free so we're crossing our fingers that he stays that way. I don't know what it is with boxers and allergies -- they must be extremely sensitive. We still don't know what caused his either but I'm leaning toward a bee or wasp sting because he had one really pronounced, kind of hard lump on his face that looked like it may have been where he got stung. Who knows though, I'm just glad he's better. How old is your Sasha?

Sasha is eight months old, actually about 8 1/2 by now! Hard to believe!
She likes the water - sort of. She will get her paws wet and maybe up to her "elbows" but that's it. She'll just run around in it and sneeze like crazy if she gets water up her nose. What a nut. I think I would personally have to throw her in the lake to get her to swim!! Once she got stuck in a muddy, chest deep area of murky water and we nearly had to fish her out - she just stood there, submerged in muck looking at us!! AFter much coaxing, she managed to climb out and we helped her from there. Sounds like Deuce is much more aquatically inclined..............
