Boxer Pals in PA

My Roxy is 17 months old. ( I had to stop and count on my fingers)
Of the three dogs I have, the only one that didn't bolt when my daughter's friend didn't close the gate, was the old lady of the bunch. She's a beagle mix, and that might have meant exerting herself you know. Too much effort.

My middle dog, he is epileptic, and unfortunately not the brightest bulb in the package. (No hate mail, I love him to death. We spend a great deal of $$ every month,a nd have to be home to give him meds twice a day, but we do because he's family!) he took off running, but doesn't come when his name is called because he is well....... not all that smart.

Roxy. Well. She just bolted like a shot. I knew we would get her back, my biggest fear was her getting hit by a car. So, there we were, two little crying kids, feeling terrible for leaving the gate open. Me, with my rheumatoid arthritis, trying to run after one dog, while my two kids ran after the other. It was a sight to behold, I think I may have actually been in my pajamas!

Hi Girls,
I would like to meet sometime too. Brogan is only 4 months and is not off leashed trained either.
Brogan is super friendly to all animals and people She loves to play. She will walk up to a dog that is 100 pounds and start boxing them. She's not afraid..
She has neve been to obedience school yet so she is in the beginnning stages of training.
Rowdy Roxie- Brogan and Roxy are the same age so I'm sure they would have a blast together..

well, just let me know where you guys plan to meet and I will try to make it

That would be awesome! Riley is 4 months....same age as Brogran. Also, has not been put in for trainign yet. But soon I know I have not been on the board lately, so I am sorry I didn't post to you sooner.

I think it would be great for all of us to get together! Where do you live again?

I'm glad Riley isn't trained fully yet either so Brogan won't be the only silly puppy running around
I live near Manayunk. I am willing to go anywhere. I just don't know of any dog parks around me.

Is the park your husband went to in Valley Forge a dog park?

I'm in Bucks County (Warrington). Don't know of any dog parks, but would love to be involved in any Boxer Bash. Maggie has had some flare ups with other dogs inthe past, but that seems to be in the past. She won't run away, if I let her off her leash, and when she is off the leash, she seems to be fine with other dogs. Sometimes, when on the leash, she gets funny.

We go to Peace Valley park a lot, but you should have them leashed there. If anything gets planned, please e-mail me.

Playwicki park has two parts....There is the old Playwicki Farm that they turned into a walking type of park. This one sits right on 213 near that red light. If you are going down 213 and Playwicki Farm is on the right, go further down (stay towards the right at the light) as soon as you go over the bridge of the Neshaminy Creek, the original park entrance is on the left.

The original park was closed for a few years because of all the flooding from that huricane a few years ago. They completely redid it and it looks so much nicer!

I just heard of a dog park that just had its grand opening last weekend in North Wales. I don't know exactly where it is, but it is closer to where we will be moving at the end of the summer. I'll do some research on it and post.

Hi Tina,

That is totally awesome! I wonder if there is a fee associated with the park? I will have to call them. I am not too familliar with where this park is, but will hop on mapquest. That would be really cool for us all to get together and check out. Especially being it is brand new.

I will definitly have to get out and check Playwicki Park too.

If you get any info before I do on the park, please let me know.

Hi all, I just found this topic, I live in East Brandywine Pennsylvania, Downingtown township. Its about a 25min drive to Valley Forge from here. Tess is three months old on Monday and will be up to date on vaccinations soon. Isnt this great that there are quite a few in PA?

Hi everyone,

I apologize for not repsonding sooner. I am having some family issues at the moment and haven't had the time to jump online. I would so love to get together and meet with our babies. I wont' be able to do anything over this weekend (bummer) since it will be so beautiful out. But hopefully after this weekend, my life should be back to normal.

What park would everyone like to gather at one day? Are any of you married / have childern? I am married and my two kids are my boxers I would bring my husband along with me for the meet. Just curious to see if anyone else would.

I hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th.
