Boxer Newbie!

Hi everyone,

I just subscribed to Boxerworld today, and I'm happy to report that I will be the proud new owner of a Boxer pup tomorrow evening at precisely 6:30 pm, central time....

My 4-year old daughter and I have been anxious to welcome "Bear" into our home, and I wanted all of you to know that I spent many hours as an outsider on this site in an effort to see what I'm in store for!!

I've always admired the breed for their beauty and intelligence and hope to share his progress with all of you.

Any last minute preparation tips from the veterans out ther?

Hi newbe, and welcome!
Remember when you were pregnant with that 4 yr. old? You read everything you could get your hands on, listen to endless stories about pregnancy, giving birth, and child care, and advice from everyone you talk to. So, you give birth to that darling baby. You bring baby home. Then.....you have questions, wonder if you can possibly live through those sleepless nights.....colic.....potty training......etc.
Well, imagine bringing that puppy home tomorrow. Puppies cry and pee and poo and chew and etc, etc, etc. They can drive you crazy. That's where Boxerworld starts! We're here for you! 24-7.
You may have had other dogs in your lifetime. You may imagine you know a lot about dogs.
Then there are Boxers!! Whole other animal!!
I know! I found out, too!!
Here at Boxer World you are free to ask endless questions about diet and mange and size and weight and etc., etc., etc. And, you will get answers, and suggestions from people much wiser than I am.
And hopefully, after we have lived through the trials and tribulations of rearing a full grown, mature Boxer, WE will be part of the ones here, who can give good advice to the NEXT new Boxer owners!

Welcome and congratulations on your new furbaby! I must warn you, be prepared to be addicted to this amazing breed. Take lots of pictures because Bear won't be a little pup for long!! I am looking forward to hearing more about him and seeing some pictures soon.

Welcome to BW! Congrats on your soon-to-be new baby! You are in for so much fun. Honestly, nothing can totally prepare you for a new boxer baby other than just bringing one home!! Of course there is a lot of great info and advice here, but each pup is so different, so you never know... Here's hoping your Bear will sleep through the night so you won't be too exhuasted to play with him all day!! Let us know how things go when you get him home!! Good luck!
