I went away for about a week the first week of October. When I got home Roxi was kinda scared of me. When I got off the plane.. I reached the car before my boyfriend, opened the door and tried to call her out (because usually if she is really excited she sometimes pees) but she would not come out of the car. Finally my boyfriend got her out of the car, and she still would not come near me. I was so upset. Then when I got into the car, she jumped on my lap , and gave me millions of kisses, I think it just all of a sudden kicked in, and was like "yay its mom... back to my spoiled ways" haha. She knows I spoil her rotten.. but you know.. shes my special baby.

So at first your dog could act different/scared but... look out the wigging, and lots of kisses will not be far away.

Don't quote me on this, but I read somewhere that puppies start to really remember things after 7-8 weeks of age. He was well past that age when you left, he'll def. remember you.

Your baby will not forget you. When you get home be ready for all of the slobbery kisses and the great butt wiggles. Thank you and all of the men and women for keeping our country safe.
God bless you....Linda

I dont know who is watching your dog for you, but you could always call and leave messages on the answering machine saying like "hey Chase, Dad's coming home soon" just so he hears your voice regularly. I call home at lunch and leave messages and they say Titan sits and stares at the phone b/c he knows it's my voice. The shirt is a good idea too though. I bet he remembers you, but if not give him a day or two and surely he'll warm up to you again. Glad to hear you're almost done there, my bf is army and is gone overseas a lot too. And the dogs all remember him when he comes home, so there's hope for you and Chase. Good luck

I'm a U.S. soldier currently stationed overseas.I Left home in June, and i will be returning in Dec.I was wondering if Chase will remember me still??

Oh gosh.. my husband hasn't made a long deployment since we got Lulu, but when he came home from the last couple month long ones, she knew exactly who he was :) It sounds cheesy, but when he calls home to talk to our skinkids, I'll put the phone on speaker so Lulu can hear him and she gets so excited she'll lick the phone.

with all the love they have in their hearts i don't think they will ever forget their family. I heard from a friend who lived in England, that in his town there was a train attendant who owned a boxer, and the dog will come to the station everyday at a certain time to meet his owner and walk home with him. When the owner died, the dog kept on going to the station on the same schedule and wait for all pasengers to get off and then go home alone. The dog is famous because he has done this for years. Don't worry he will never forget.

i wouldn't do the speaker phone thing. We tried it once when I was home alone with lucky and my wife wanted to say hi so i put her on the speaker, his first reaction was to go to the door and meet her, when he didn't find her he started to franticly search all over the house for her. It was funny at first but then i felt so bad for him, because he just went to the door and stared at it for two hours until she came home. I tried to take his attention off the door with hugs, treats (the good ones), nothing worked. He looked so sad.
