Iv heard that the lamp may help. If it is SFA the hair should grow back once she has finished blowing her coat , at least in the past 2 yrs this was the case with Roge, I know it look terrible and to be honest I put a coat on Roge when I walked him ( vanity on my part ) because I didnt want people looking at him thinking "ugg whats wrong with him "
Good luck with the lamp I hope you see results.
Keep us posted I would love to know how she fairs out.

Hair Loss

My female boxer 3 years old started losing her hair in patches on both side near her hips and now on her back. My cousin just informed me his boxer which is the sister to my boxer had the same thing happen. He took her to the vet, antibiotic, blood test and nothing worked. So my cousin researched and discovered it was a vitamin d deficiency. So her put the dog outside in the sun everyday for 1-2 hours and her hair grew completely back. Makes sense I guess. I'm going to take my boxer to the vet just to be safe.
Thanks.

My boxer Loki suffered the same type of hair loss when he was younger, although it mostly on his face and back. Blood work showed that he had a hypothyroid condition. Luckily, it doesn't seem to be terribly serious. Two pills a day (I just drop them in his food, as I feed him twice) and the pills themselves are cheap. He's been taking them for like four years now and hasn't had any issues with hair loss (or any other thyroid-related effects).

So as far as chronic boxer medical conditions go, I guess it could have been a lot worse. I'll gladly pay 30-40 bucks every two months to keep him healthy.
