I recently saw a television program that stated ,"You should never kiss a dog". I still can't believe that is true. I am constantly kissing my sweet girl and wonder if anyone else saw this program and if it is true.

I kiss Lexi all the time and she give me plenty of kisses back. I don't care if they say you shouldn't do it. I'm going to continue. I love doggy kisses.

I can't remember the reason why you should not kiss a dog. But, we all know our boxers are not just "dogs", so it must be okay! LOL Maybe she was afraid she would get kissed back!

I have heard numerous times that you shouldn't let a dog lick you because their mouths are dirty, they lick their butt, etc.

Stephen was told by someone (I think it was his dad because he won't tell me who told him and he knows how I feel about some of the stupid stuff that comes out of his dads mouth about the dogs) that if you let a dog lick you, you will get salmonella and rabies.

When he told me that, I about peed myself laughing. I explained to him that if we still fed RAW, that no, I wouldn't want to be licked for 15-20 minutes after they ate. As far as rabies...you have to be kidding me!

For awhile Stephen wouldn't let the dogs lick him which is another reason why I think his dad told him this, he would have no reason to listen to anyone else. After a few days he got over it and then would jokingly tell our friends that just to get me started. Now he lets them lick his face, he kisses them, they share food, etc.

His family isn't very animal friendly so I can see his dad saying something stupid and him believing it because it was his dad that said it. I about have him to the point that he takes whatever his dad says about the dogs with a grain of salt.

I have always had dogs in my life and yes, they have always kissed me. Maybe not as much or as sloppy as Tyson, but I have managed to live to the ripe old age of 42. LOL I think these people just are not animal people. They won't let dogs kiss them, but if they get a mosuito bite, oh well. Which is worse for you?

This program said humans should not kiss their dogs. It never mentioned that you should not allow a dog to lick you . I would think that would be what they were talking about. I have kissed our sweet girl since day one and probably will continue for I hope a very long time. I was just wondering why it would be harmful for a dog to be kissed by a human?

Well both mine get tons of kisses everyday from me, hubby and son. I know they love it and I have no intention of stopping. Their cheeks were made for it, why else would they squish up so wonderfully.

If we all thought long and hard about it I'm not sure we'd even let our loved ones kiss us! Who knows where they've been

They way I look at at, the more germs I can be subjected to voluntarily the better my immune system will be!
