Boxer Karma Sutra!!

Hi there,

I spent 2 hours tonight admiring my boxer, Monty, jumping around a beautiful female boxer that is in heat so bad!! She was frowning at him as he pranced about her and did all the sniffing and licking lark!! Does anyone know if it comes naturally for him to throw the leg over or is there something I should do to show him?? He has only met her tonight and will have another rendezvous tomorrow night.....help!!

You should find someone who knows what they're doing to help you with this breeding, if you are intent upon it happening. Serious injury could occur to one or both dogs if you aren't aware of what's going on. In the interim, do some searches here on responsible breeding and on stud dogs - there is a ton of information that I suspect you haven't come across before.

Thank you to Julie and Rachel for getting back to me so quickly. The story here is....Monty is a six year old fawn and white boxer that I spoil 24/7. I have had him from 8 weeks old and he can almost talk to me. He is a great guard dog but is also a big softy. My friend has a 3 year old bitch called Yoko and we want to breed them together. We are not breeding for sale but want to breed for ourselves. Whatever pups are born we are taking between us. Yoko is going to be neutered after having this litter (if it ever happens!). We moved into a new house 2 years ago and decided to wait until our property was secure and dog friendly before we got any more. Now we are ready to increase our doggie family and this was a way of continuing my georgous monty's family tree. If it happens it happens! We have asked Monty's vet for advice so he is going to supervise what needs to be done.
In Ireland, it is very rare that you will find any Boxers in shelters/dogs homes. Myself and my partner both keep an eye out in the shelters for any abandoned boxers and they are very rare!! I have seen how touchy a subject breeding is on this site and that is why I was afraid to ask the question. Believe me, I would never do anything to put my dog or any other dog at risk. I look forward to reading more about all the boxers on this site and will post a few pics of Monty also.
