Our 8 month old male boxer was almost house broken and we started letting him go out in the back yard by himself to make. He will not go out and when he does he will just sit by the door and wait to be let in, after a while we let him in and then miinutes later he will pee or cocky in the house. It is like he is going in reverse. Where did we go wrong and can we fix it ?

I would start with going backwards yourself. Go out with him as usual. Then day by day, start to get a little farther away. Try not to watch him or give any attention. Just you being close should be enough attention. If you see him go potty, then call him over and give him a treat or some good lovin. He may just associate you being right there to him doing his business. So you have to dis-associate yourself slowly from the equation. I would guess after a week or two, you will be letting him out and he will go do his thing and then be back at the door wanting to be by your side again.

This is only the method I used with Lily when she was about 6 mos. old. She picked up on it pretty quick and I just let her out now without a problem. See if it helps and hopefully some others will chime in on some more suggestions.

Well, boxers are velcro dogs. They absolutely love their owners and will be a shadow unless something else is more interesting. But they will always come back to your side in no time.

And yes, Lots of luck! Keep posting any questions here. Unlimited useful advice and info to tap into.
