I am so sad! I was just out walking Lambeau and I came across a man down the street who was taking a Boxer from his garage to the backyard. I got so excited! What a dream come true...a fellow Boxer right here in our neighborhood! I was already envisioning playdates as I walked over to the man. I asked him if that was a Boxer and how old. Turns out he is 16 months...Lambeau is 10...perfect, right? Well, he didn't even bring him out!! He didn't say, "Hey, wanna get them together?" Nothing. We talked for about 15 minutes all about our boxers, all the while, our dogs are whining through the fence at eachother. :( I suggested a playdate right before continuing my walk to which he didn't really say much at all. I am so sad! I thought they could play together! Oh well...so much for that. Just wanted to share my disappointment.

Aww maybe he'll come around! Keep at him! Boxers were born to play together!!!! :p
I'd make walking past his house a regular of my route and make a point to talk to him. Maybe even ask if I could be invited to his boxer!! Perhaps he doesn't know us boxerlovers are wild about other boxers??!!!fiesta1ico
Anyway I hope he lets your dogs play together or walk together!!!! Let us know what he says next time!!!

I know exactly how you feel. For the longest time...Sirus was one of the only big dogs in the neighborhood (everyone else has little squeekers! no offence to squeeker owners!), and definatly the only Boxer...so imagine my surpise when a man walks up to me with a year and a half old female Boxer! Beautiful girl that he had just rescued! We stood (I was on my side of the fence and he was on the sidewalk) and talked for awhile about our babies, all the while the babies are whining...but cannot play because the little girl has a wound on hind leg. I mentioned that we should get them together when she is all healed...and he just sort of blew me off!
He doesn't even walk her past my house anymore...I feel sort of like I offended him by askin' if our dogs could play together!

What is wrong with people.

I would be ecstatic if we had another boxer in our neighborhood that wanted to play with Kosmo.
Our neighbors across the street have 2 dogs, not boxers, but they (the neighbors) don't seem too friendly. I often hear them yelling at their dogs to shut up. Whenever I see the dogs outside they are chained up.
They are the only dogs we see in the neighborhood.
Which is why we bring our boy to doggie day care so he can interact with other dogs.

If Lambeau or Sirus lived in my neighborhood they would be invited over to play all the time:)

My Molly is only 10 weeks. Three doors down in another female boxer she looks to be full grown but I am not sure of her age. Molly doesn't really bark that much but the other boxer does as soon as she sees Molly and then it is a jumping contest. Of course Molly never wins because she is quite a bit smaller than the other dog but I keep telling her that someday if she keeps practising she will jump higher. I cannot wait until they can play together. Right now Molly has to stay away because she came to us sick and we do not want to give it to others.
If neat to see them stare at each other through the chain link fence. It's almost as if they know that someday they will be together.
Yesterday Molly was outiside playing with her soccer ball (size of a tennis ball) and the boxer three yards down was playing with a full size soccer ball they both came to the fences with their balls and I had to laugh at Molly, she was so proud of herself it was almost like the other dog was looking at a "mini me".
She makes me smile many times each day I couldn't imagin life without her now. (my christmas tree could but I couldn't)

If I had people in my community like the ones near Kosmo's Moms house I would seriously consider reporting them.
And I have in the past done that. I'm not sure if it makes a difference but there's always a chance it will be in the benefit of the dog...and maybe some people (the smart ones) will learn from it if they didnt' know dogs shouldn't be chained up outside....maybe they should get a fence, for crying out loud.
That really burns me when I see that.

SubiRu's Mom from here I met while walking Porter when we had just gotten him. She and her hubby drove up and were ecstatic to see another boxer in the neighborhood!!! Being a new boxer owner I didn't get it, but thought it was cool Porter would have some friends. She and I ran into eachother at the Park a couple weeks later and Porter has had 2 beautiful girlfriends ever since!!! Speaking of...if you're still on BW, girl, get to postin'!!!! :)

I'm so sorry to hear that. I know who you feel though because my mom just moved and I took Ali over to see her and she has a neighbor with a boxer so I tried to talk to the lady and she acted like she could've cared less....

That really is to bad, I've had a similar experience.

I discovered a boxer owner, sitting outside his home a few weeks back. I pulled my car over around the corner and walked back to his home with Daisy. I asked if we could meet his boxer, he yeah as long as I kept my dog away.

I talked to him for few minutes with both our boxer babies whinning and sniffing, wanting to play ( only a few feet apart ). The only thing this guy had to say about his boxer was that his dog was all he had left after his recent devorce.

I excused myself and returned to my car, some boxer owners just don't get it!

I can't believe so many people have had similar experiences. What is wrong with those other boxer owners??! Let the dogs play!! Boxers have a way of playing that only other boxers can really appreciate! :) I continue to walk past his house, but haven't seen him or the cutie boxer again. :( We'll keep trying though. Maybe soon I will post some good news about a playdate!
