Boxer get togethers for Michigan?

In the North Metro Detroit area, The 2 Dog Parks are at Joslyn Rd., 3 miles north of I-75, called the county "Bark Park", We visited once and was suprised to see they also had a lake & a dock for dog swimming! WOW!

We went to the dog park in Oakland today around noon(The Bark Park)...it was AMAZING! First of all, it's HUGE...about 17 acres according to the brochure, with a pond and hiking trails. There is a set of gates as you go in, and then a second, to keep the little monsters from running out. Once inside, Pete and I walked up a hill, where we saw about 10 other owners supervising over a dozen dogs of all bredds running around having a BALL!

It was Sooooo much fun! Pete made friends with a Great Dane pup, and the two ran around pacing each other for about 20 minutes. I chatted with the other owners at the picnic tables set up at the top of the hill.

This place is PERFECT for a get together! Let's get our furbabies and head out sometime soon for a boxer bash!

I've heard of the (Bark Park) in Oakland county and plan on checking it out ...soon!!! It sounds great. Would love to set up something. I'll check out profiles of Michigan members and see if I can some up with a central location for all of us. Everyone else keep working on this it sounds like a lot of fun!!!

The Oakland Bark Park sounds great to me and I know of 12 other owners that would definately go that don't post on this board, But that wouldn't be fair to people outside of the Detroit area. I'm still trying to find a park in the middle of the state.

OK, I'm haveing no luck finding a central location and plus I can't afford too much more of a phone bill. Unless someone else comes up with a location for all of us, then I say that we go to the Oakland Bark Park if that is ok for most people. I'm just going to through a date out there as well and let me know what you think.....how about June 9th at 12:00?
