I don't know about anyone else but I am able to pick up the poo in a nappy sack (they're quite hard poo's) and once or twice a week I hose them down :)

I have to see a pic of your dogs now :)

The pebbles were really cheap £56 a ton including delivery and I used 3 tons. The membrane to cover the grass and stop weeds coming up wasn't expensive either only about £25 and it only took a few hours to do from start to finish. The plum slate to the left was a bit more expensive but it just breaks it up a bit.
I'd like to plant a few ornamental grasses but know Zeb would ruin them so plants in pots it is :)

BIG BIG BIG ROCKS and in the middle a pond (a child's wading pool) for your pup. The only plant that was safe, other than the shrubs/trees that she couldn't dig up easily was Lily of the Valley. However, I don't recommend this unless you are really good at keeping it in line. It's very invasive. I fought this battle for 7 years with Alex and finally lightened up the last 3. Now I simply plant on the outside of the fence, wipe the mulch off her face and out of her jowls before entry to the house. It's not what I want but it works!! Luckily, I have flower beds outside of the fence so I don't have much of an issue of not getting to plant. To get even with my pup, I placed a squirrel feeder about 6 feet up a tree inside the fence. Like Wiggles to the toddlers, like catnip to the cats.....

Tracey I WILL get pictures of my two this weekend, we have a holiday tomorrow ( I teach) but have dr. appts all day. But I will get them I promise.. lol..
I don't know how much money that is here in the US but it sounds like it is not that bad.. so during my running around I plan to get some estimates. Might be more for me since we live sooo far out of "town".

one thing to note about the rocks Watch out for flying debris during boxer burns lol

My brothers front yard is a desert theme lots of rocks and such. Well one day Arnie was playing withthe nieghbors akita pup in the rocks and the next day my Bros roomate calles me and asks if I knew how "all these little dents got on the side of my car" Needless to say that was one of the more expensive learning experiences Ive had with these crazy boxers.

Rocks like Lola'smom has, at least in california, run about $15-40 a ton. I work in the office for a landscaping company and order it all the time. It definetly pays to shop around prices are always changing and are drastically different from business to business.

$15-40?? Wow. I live in St. Louis and all the places I've been looking at charge between $500-600 a ton!!!!!! Unless I've been doing my conversions wrong-- a ton is 2000 pounds, right?

I have convinced DH to create a designated potty area for Bayleigh. We are going to start out with a 10 foot x 10 foot area. We were wondering about wood mulch. It would be easier to handle. But what would the smell be like on a hot August day? Anyone use mulch instead of rock?
