Help guys,
Just posting this message as a last resort! We just moved up to Brooklyn, NY from Florida. While i am so happy to be back in the Big Apple, we are having so much trouble finding a rental that will allow dogs (especially big, drooling boxers). My mother is getting older and we need to be close! While giving Mojo up is not an option, it is getting more and more difficult!! We are are staying with friends, but will be wearing out our welcome shortly! Any suggestions??? Your help is greatly needed!!!

Hi and welcome!

If you search pet friendly apartments in your browsers address bar it will give you a huge list of sites that specialize in finding pet friendly apts. for people. I did this when I moved to AZ and it was easy to find a place. Good Luck!

I lived in Park Slope Brooklyn for 18 years. This is one DOG FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD! You might want to look in that area.

You can also go to the park (Prospect Park) mornings on the weekends. They have a "Bark in the Park" sponsored by one of the animal rescue groups I think, and there are literally hundreds of dog owners there and information tables and so forth. Go and ask people about apartments. The best way to find a place in NY is word of mouth and getting there as quickly as possible.

Brooklyn Heights isn't quite as dog friendly as Park Slope. But check around and be sure to ask lots of dog people and they will help you or set you in the right direction.

Good luck.
