I was just wondering, are there any particular food brands or food dyes that Boxers are commonly allergic to? Our 11-month old just had an allergic reaction to something, and we aren't positive what it was. He was covered in itchy bumps for nearly three days, and we gave him Benadryl, which helped keep things under control. I think it may be because he ate some of my shepherd mix's Moist and Meaty dog food, which has pieces that are dyed red. Are boxers prone to this kind of reaction to certain foods and dyes? I'd just like to know so we can avoid this kind of reaction in the future.

Yes, boxers can be sensitive to food dyes and other artificial colourings or additives. Fillers such as corn, corn meal and beet pulp are also common culprits when dogs (not just boxers) have food allergies, and it's best to avoid anything with those in the ingredient list (besides which, they're cheap fillers with little or no nutritional value for dogs).
