Geez...I hope nobody is around when you tell your boxer your going to cut her legs off and beat her with the bloody ends. People might think you need help. If you can't afford obedience classes, maybe you should have thought twice about taking in a boxer. Taking a boxer into your home is a big responsibility, both emotionally and financially. It sounds as if you are lacking in both. Maybe I've misunderstood your posts, but they lead me to believe that you should have thought twice about taking another pet into your home. JMO

I tend to agree with Timmy S. It is a big responsibility when you take on a Boxer - and believe me I know what it's like to come home after a frustrating day and to have two dogs urke your nerves with their hyperness. However it is something that can be controlled with a little patience. The dogs do grow up and out of their puppy stages. I've noticed a big change in my female within the last 4 months.
Just take your time with it, don't expect any changes overnight - whether or not you are working with the dog(s) yourself or sending them to classes. Just sounds to me like the dogs are too demanding for you - but you really should give them the attention they need.

I tink you have misunderstood

I love my dogs and that comment I made was just a joke. My dogs are My life! And if you read any of my posts you would know that I did not know that I was getting a boxer. I was told she was a pit bull and all her brothers and sisters were. So I did not know. Its all the same I am much happier with having a boxer. I hear wonderful things about them but I don't need to hear it I can see it for myself. I am so happy I have 2 dogs. It is not too much responsibility at all. What is too much is living in an APARTMEMT with 2 dogs. We used to live in a house. Thats whats crazy but I feel that it is only for a year so I'm not going to send them off anywhere thats not right. We will just deal with it for a year or so. And I have gotten quotes for 6 week training it is like $250.00 so I must be looking at the wrong places, so thanks too the person that set that straight. I think I will do some more searching this weekend.

The training you are referring to....is that

1) you send the dog to them and they train??
(which is different than you attending the classes)

2) classes which you and the dog attend together for 6 weeks.
(you MUST also work with the dog at home every night also)

I'm not sure if you have one where you're at but if you do try PetSmart the pet store. They have classes around $79 for a puppy. That's where I'm going to take my Cherokee. I've heard of others in my area that took their puppies there (all breeds) and said it's well worth it.
In any case I would love to see some pictures of your babies.
Welcome to the boards. You should also try getting into the chat room the people there were very helpful to me as well. I just got a boxer 2 months ago and found this place and have learned a lot of wonderful things. The boards are fabulous and the chat room is also great if you want an answer right away with some back and forth conversation and extra information you didn't know you might need. Good luck with your babies.

Me Again

It's me again. I took the liberty to see if there are any Petsmarts in your area. I don't know how close this isbut if it is it might be worth a try. 5013 South Cleveland Ave their number is 941-277-9890. If not maybe you can go to a local shelter, rescue or pet store and see if they know of any places in your area within your budget. I really hope you find something

Training Classes

On the subject of training classes, you may want to get in contact with your vet. When we got Charlie, our vet gave us a list of trainers and training classes in our area. We enrolled Charlie in puppy classes at a cost of $30 for 4 weeks.... He loved them.

adam and houseofski

thanks a lot. Yes that petsmart is right down the street from me. I love going there they have magazines and one I love Called BOXER and it gives you the scoop. But it is like 10 dollars. Thats why I have you guys to ask. Thanks you guys. And if I had a scanner I would flaunt my babies all over the internet.

I have a question?
Does any ones boxer try to ATTACK the vacume cleaner. My Boxer doesn't but my other one the half pit half what ever freaks out. If she could she would tare that thing to pieces I have to tell her to get out of here and leave it alone. She cracks me up. But she gets grizzley mean in front of that thing. I call her the "Little freak out" I have tried to use massagers on her and she runs. I try to brush her, she runs. She's a freak!smashicon

Not a problem. You should check it out and like I said if that's still too much ask around.
I bought that magazine it's pretty cool. If you want I can scan the pages and email them to you. Let me know. In either case you have lots of knowledge right here on th board and the chat room. Good Luck.
