Boxer eat poop all the time !

Hi Bruno is almost 6 months and he eats poop all the time, I mean It 's been more the a month I started to notice that everytime he has a chance he poop inside tha house and eatshis poop right way, It's seems he does that to hide, but we can smell so bad and even his breath stink !!!But today was the worst, I was walking him and he decided to eat other dog poop thathe found on the grass, it was terrible, I tried to make him stop and vomit that, but of course I couldn't!!!Please does somebody know what should I do to make him to stop?! Can he get sick by doing that?

Some dogs will eat their own poo if their diet is lacking in any nutrients.
Some puppies will eat their own poo to try to hide it from you, so they won't get in trouble.

Either way, I've heard of a product called Deter. You give it to them with their food and it makes their poo taste bad (as if it tastes good in the first place?... right). You might want to try that.

You can buy a product called "Deter" it's a chewable beef flavored tablet and you feed one for every 10 lbs of weight per day. They sell them at Petco/Petsmart and it makes the poop taste yucky to them. It takes a few days to work but Dozer used to be a poop eater and I kept him on the Deter for about a month and he hasn't done it since. Good luck.

Thanks guys, I'll buy that tomorrow!!!I don't think it's because o his food, I've been feeding him Canidae, one of the best food that i heard bout it , anyway I do think when he does that inside the house it's cause he wants to hide, he thinks we can't smell that , but I don't understand why he eats other dogs poop, that's gross :(, I'm just afraid he can get sick doing that....and he loves to lick me when we're playing but tonight i'm going to brush his teeth before that, yuck!!!

I used pineapple and a little meat teneriser in with each meal. It took about a month before he stopped eating it.

do you mean you fed fresh pineapple and added meat tenderizer to their food? My pup is only 8 weeks old and weighs about 8 pounds. She's been doin this since we've gotten her.

do you mean you fed fresh pineapple and added meat tenderizer to their food? My pup is only 8 weeks old and weighs about 8 pounds. She's been doin this since we've gotten her.

I bought the canned pineapple crushed I believe. I would put a tsp. of the chunks in and a tsp. of the juice. Then I would sprinkle a little meat tenderiser over it and stir it all up. Just don't use too much meat tenderiser it has a lot of sodium that isn't good for dogs. I tried the Deter but didn't have much luck after 2 weeks of using it.
