Well, as i prepare to be a boxer owner I think its time I started to get down the boxer owner terminology. I hear about Boxer Burns and Kidney Bean all the time, but what is this exactly?

Oh, are you in for a treat!! A boxer burn is when the boxer runs all out, tearing like the devil is after him, through the yard, the house etc. This occurs frequently after a poop! (yes, I'm serious). Kidney beaning is a delightful folding of the body such that the back end is facing the same direction as the front end. I've also heard this phenomenon called a U-turn. This is really cute unless your boxer has an undocked tail. In that case the boxer either whaps you as you try to pet him, or manages to whap his own face. We call this the "Scrappywhap". Boxers also have a lot of other cute traits!!!! You will just love this breed!

Good that you're asking before you have your puppy home. I am also a first time boxer mom and didn't know that beaning was a trait. When she did it the night we brought her home I was seriously concerned that something was wrong with her

There is nothing that brings a bigger smile to my face EVERY DAY as watching my little boy try to get his beaning little behind to the ground so that we will pet him. (He can't get loving until his rump is on the ground.)

I am also a first time boxer mom (18 mths now) and I am waiting right now to get my second. If you don't have patience, you soon will!

They are worth every bit of trouble, work and money (and new plants, clothes, shoes, remote controls, DVDs, DVD players, lamps....)

Enjoy your new baby!

Rolen is the same exact way! He doesn't get any love until his bum is on the ground and some days it takes 5 minutes for him to stop beaning to get his bum down! You're right though, it does make me smile! :)

Enjoy your new puppy! Boxer traits are the best!

The beaning is hysterical! Just wait... Mine does it when I get home from work and he is just way too excited! They kind of swivel back and forth with their nubbins wagging! ;)

You also may experience the jack-hammer (common trait) This is where they pound on the ground with both front paws like a jack-hammer! And in Chief's case, he makes the growly noises with it!

You're sure in for a treat! Can't wait to hear all about him! :)

Oh yeah, and let's not forget the "comfy snort". You know, when they are really comfortable and your loving on them they just let out this big sigh/snort. I love that. :)
