I am desperately seeking my new best friend... Do you know where he could be? I am looking to adopt a medium/large male fawn w/black mask under 2 years old. I have just applied to be on the waiting list for the Maryland rescue, but I don't know how much luck I will have. There must be a Boxer shortage in Maryland! I have NO PROBLEM driving to pick him up. Any-who, if you know of big boy who needs a new mommy to spoil him rotten... I'm it! I live with my mom, sister and grandmother and they have 1 female cat and 1 female cocker spaniel of there own. I have alot of love to give and am patiently waiting to find my furry soulmate. Please help!!!

Hi!

I don't know about a shortage in Maryland, but the rescue organizations like SCBR, Northeastern, etc. are overwhelmed with boxers especially since the NJ ordeal. I'm sure that members of the board who deal with rescue will be glad to point you in the right direction. Best of luck to you and keep us posted.

Thank you so much for your suggestion.... Unfortunately, I have contacted SCBR and due to my location, they are unable to help me. I believe that New Jersey was the cut-off state. I was very disappointed to find that out because there were a few that I would've loved to meet and possibly to adopt. The bad part about the Maryland rescue is that there are probably many people on the waiting list and it could take a very long time for me to be matched. They only have about 4 that are available for adoption and none of them would fit with my household. I am MORE than willing to pay for whatever costs are necessary and a home visit is perfectly fine. Please let me know if you ever come across anything. Thanks again... Have a blessed day!

There is boxer rescue in Carroll County, MD. Hampstead, I think. They were mentioned in the Carroll County Times sometime within the last year. I don't remember the name of the organization. I would imagine the Carroll County Humane Society would have their name and number. The CCHS is located in Westminster, MD. You could probably find their telephone number through 411.

Good Luck.

Recycled Pets in Rock Hill, SC (right outside of Charlotte) has two fawn males, one cropped the other natural. I don't know what their size ranges are but they don't look on the small side and Maryland is not that far (I drove to PA to get Angus). If you want to see them go to www.petfinder.org and type in SC and boxer.

Good Luck!

Frederick Maryland here...

We got our boxer girl Minnie from Central Kentucky Boxer Rescue. They primarily cover Kentucky and West Virginia, but since we were close to the eastern WV panhandle they worked with us. When we dealt with them they had a volunteer/foster provider living in the Baltimore area who came to do our home visit and ultimately brought Minnie to us. I don' know if she's still involved in CKBR or not, but if you contact them they may be willing to work with you.

CKBR website is http://www.kentuckyboxerrescue.org

Good Luck!

Thanks!

I wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone for their suggestions!

I have put in my application for Partners in Boxer Rescue, which is in Maryland and I am going to put one in for the rescue in Kentucky. The Northestern Boxer Resuce will not let me apply because I am too far out of there region. Please keep the suggestions coming... I have looked into every reply to my original post and am making progress. Hopefully, I'll have a baby of my own to brag about! Keep the ideas coming!

Have a blessed day :D

I have put in my application with Central Kentucky Boxer Rescue. There is an adorable baby named "Mason" that I am interested in, but of course, that could be a long shot. I'll keep you guys updated!
