boxer bites lead

Our 10 month old boxer jumps up and bites the lead when you are out walking to other people around he looks really vicious do you think this will stop and can you give me some good advice on what i should do. I love waolking himn but it's getting to the point wher i don't want to he does it while your crossing the road any suggestions.

This seems to be something many boxers like to do. I simply say "drop it" (she knows that means release whatever is in her mouth).

Spray the leash with "Bitter Apple". Make sure you shake it up, before you spray, as the bitters sink to the bottom.

My female loves to play fight with her leash. What I do is allow this while I am standing in my driveway or yard. She is like a maniac doing flips chasing it biting it. Sometimes even jumping and landing on me. When it is time to walk and she starts I use "ENOUGH" command and hold the leash tight and straight up from the top of her neck so it is hard for her to get it. Its like I am walking with my arm straight out horizontally. I might have to do this for a half a block but then she is over her excited state and is fine to walk. Let me make it clear I am NOT Choking her just holding it straight up so that her collar turns and it comes up from the back of her neck instead of hanging under her chin.

Scrapper likes to do this after his walk. I say "Do you want to play?" and he grabs the leash, starts pulling like crazy and really getting into it. But when I say "No play!" he drops it instantly. My son likes to amaze the neighbor kids with his "on and off switch." But, really, it's one of his favorite play things. Try to get some control over it and you can use it as a reward for good behavior during training.
