Real quick I was wondering if anyone has had an unneutered boxer and how they interacted with a new born baby?

Thanks for any help.

I have two daughters (3 1/2 yrs & 20 months old).
The only thing I ever had to worry about with them (well any of my dogs!) was that they didn't roll over on them or sit on them! HA HA! My male would rock the bassinet and peek in everytime he would hear a whimper or cry and even got his face pee'd on one time while I was holding up the baby! He always had to be right there in the midst of all the action! I never had any worries - and still don't. They still follow the kids everywhere and want included in everything that they do (even trying to jump in the tub during bath time - cause they think that they are babies too!) Are you expecting?? If so, Congrats & you'll have lots of fun watching them become best friends!

We hope to be expecting. We are trying to have a baby God willing. My wife grew up with boxers and said they are great with kids. I just wanted to make sure that when the time comes that we bring home a baby that we can be assured that he wont try to show dominance to the baby and hurt him/her because he is not neutered. He is great with our beagle so I am preety sure he will be great with our baby.

Thanks for your input.

I had to laugh about your bath time story.. That happened to us lastnight. I went to put my 2 yr old in the tub and turned around to get a towel and heard 2 very distinct splashes and thought hmmm.. that didn't sound good.. So I turned around.. Keldyn is laughing and she has both boxers in the tub with her.. You could barely see her.. I would have to agree they are excellent with kids..

Perfectly Fine. My children were 13-14 months an 3 yesras old when we got our boxer. They all get along fine. She was nuetered at the 8mo range, and nothing has changed. Actually she gets along better with the younger thatn the older. She seems to know that the older is big enought o play , but that the little one isn't yet.

I had actually researched before getting a Boxer, and I'm happy with the choice.
