Boxer Pal
Shelly and Cassie

When Shelly was about 10 months old, we adopted a kitten who was about 4 weeks old outside of a shoppign center where someoen was giving them away way to early. Cassie was barely walking at this point. When we brought the cat home, we showed her to Shelly so that Shelly knew that this wasn't something you could eat, chase etc. Shelly immeadiatly began cleaning the kitten when we where not looking, and nudge the kitten to suckle on ehr. We joke now that Shelly is Cassies mom, but I know that Shelly and the Cat think this is true. They sleep together, and both are very nice to each other. Effie who we adopted about two months ago was intrested in Cassie, however it did take Cassie about a week to stay in one place to figure out if Effie was gonna lick or bite her, once that was done, Cassie allows Effie to sniff her, but will go under Shelly's feet to be protected. Cassie is about 1 and a half years old now, and thanks to Shelly is a very very sweet cat with the kids and our dogs.

Both our boxers love our old man kitty, who just tolerates them.

Uneducated neighborhood kitties that meander into our yard however, don't understand the big dogs chasing them just want to play, and that can be intersting. I remember reading on here not so long ago about someones seeing a fleeing kitty flatten out like a pancake to go under a fence in 2 seconds flat. Cracked me up cause we know what that looks like.

Dutch is so interested in my BF's mother's cat but she wants NOTHING to do with him. The first time he saw her, he took off right at her. We tried to have a formal introduction but she was NOT into it! Her ears were sticking straight out and she was ready to rumble. Now, everytime Dutch sees her, he chases her around to get a sniff and she hisses and swipes at him, probably because he pounced on her once and hurt her back. Luckily she had a fast recuperation but he still would like to be friends with her regardless of what she wants! Myself...I am afraid of cats so I just try and shoo him away and to leave her alone. She gets braver everyday so maybe someday they can be friends. I think hell will freeze over they day they share a bed though!!!

Boxer Buddy
Joe tolerates our two cats and likes to chase them but has never hurt them. Scarlet, the boxer we had before Joe, never bothered the cats at all.
