We have just noticed something similar and I think you have answered our questions. Are they like little red bumps similar to what a pimple with no head on it looks like?? I will start wiping Dakoda mouth with a damp cloth, shes already got a steel bowl, we will start from there and see if there is any improvement. They dont seem to be bothering her. Thanks for the timely advice, terrip I hope Yogi improves too.

We have a stainless bowl already. I had read prior about the bacteria so when we got him I just got 2 stainless bowls.
Thanks for the advice.

I used come clearisil cream and it looks alot better. Just a dab and rubbed it in before bedtime. I also used the damp cloth to clean him off before. Seems to be doing the trick. Looks much better.
Gotta love the boxers.............

I would have to say the most imp thing is to keep it clean at all times. Try peroxide if you don't want to use anything else. I also put on some first aid ointment tonight. Took much of the redness away.
Seems to bother me much more than my little guy. We go to the vet's friday to get neutered so I am going to ride it out until then. I remember when I was a kid we had our 1st boxer and he got it really bad. My mom used phisoderm soap on it. That worked and it was at the time vet perscribed but thats going back 20yrs.

Diesel has struggled with this his whole life. It comes and goes, but when it gets really bad they will break open and bleed and I feel so bad for him. I have talked to many vets about this and they ALL give different opinions. One told me to dab Listerine on the breakouts, another told me to dab tea tree oil on them. He HATED both these and had a viceral response to it, not to mention neither method did any good. I tried switching foods to avoid wheat and oatmeal, didn't make a difference. Another vet put him on an antibiotic because he had a bladder infection, and that cleared it up right away, but when the meds were gone, the acne came back. I use a stainless steel bowl, I wash it constantly, I wipe his chin off after meals with puppy wet-wipes, NOTHING makes a difference. Then another vet most recently suggested a doggy grade acne pad and to see the clinic's dermatologist. So it remains to be a battle for us.

Sometimes they are huge red bumps that take weeks to clear up, other times they look just like a human's pimple. Right now he has a mild break out, but it seems like it gets the worst in the winter time.

Brady has had his share of acne. My vet said to just let it go and it would go away on it own. Just keep it clean. Poor Brady would walk around and scratch his chin on everything. Watching him scratch his chin was quite funny but I felt bad for him. It did clear up on its own and he would have an occasional breakout every now and again but since feeding raw, he hasn't had any:)
