Boomer is finally better!

Well, I know it's been a long time since I've posted on here, but I just had the share the good news. Boomer officially has hair on every inch of his body! (where he's supposed to, of couse!) We've been fighting-literally-apparently allergies this whole time. Me and the vet have gone round and round about it-him saying he thought it was d-mange, and me saying "NO IT'S NOT!!!" So, finally he gave Boomer a round of steroids, which I know aren't the greatest things, but they've helped Boomer tremendously. We've tried everything and it's just such a relief to see my Boomer acting and looking like my beautiful Boomer. Now that we've got his skin under control, we have an appointment on July 29th to have him (whispering) neutered. So ya'll just say a little payer that things continue to go well for him, and especially on the 29th.

I'm happy to hear that Boomer is doing better! I will send lots of good vibes that the neuter will be able to go ahead as planned (don't tell him I said that, he may not like me much then )! Ty is sending him a big boxer hug to help him along!

I'm glad Boomer is feeling better...let me just say that steriods only cover the problem...if it is allergies you need to find out what it is he is allergic to or it will keep coming back..just narrow down anything that has changed recently..I don't mean to discourage you but it really is true..good luck with the neuter all will be ok...

Slobber Baby-Just to reply to what you said, I know steroids only cover the problem, but we had to do something to get his skin under control until we got the results back from his allergy test-turns out he's allergic to chicken and carpet fibers the most. Great with a fully carpeted house, huh? And also, had started him on a raw diet, mostly chicken, and he just didn't seem to like it, duh-he's allergic to chicken! But even with a variety of different meats, he just wasn't enthused about eating, so he's gone back to Lamb and Rice, or Fish and Sweet Potato food with a few beef/pork necks to chew on every now and then and he seems happy! So, we're giving him the steroids until we can do something about the carpet. Thanks for all of the well-wishes! And Baby Bella-you are so right!!!

I just wanted to apologize if I sounded harsh..I've used steriods several times while I was trying to figure out what Bubba was allergic to. Turned out he is allergic to grass pollen and cedar shavings:eek: So we have to limit the time outside..and now use Benadryl in the summer months to help..again I apologize if I offended you..

That is great news! Poor Boomer! He must be worn out from all the tests! Glad to hear he has his hair again! I can't believe he's allergic to carpet fibers! Do you have to rip out all of your carpet now? That's horrible! I guess hardwood floors have their advantages!! Good luck with the neuter. I'm sure everything will be just fine!
