Hi everyone. as some of you may know i am a new proud mother of a boxer puppy. its been awesome! i want to eventually get my puppy on a raw /kibble diet where i feed him kibbles for 1 or 2 meals and a raw meal for dinner. Bruno is currently eating Nutro max for puppies and he eats it ok. I've been reading a lot on raw diets and what i want to no is if boiled chicken is OK for boxer puppies as well?? i had a friend tell me that human food is the worst for boxers so i'm kinda afraid to feed him boiled chicken let alone raw chicken . any advice on this would be fantastic ! thanks :O)

Boiled chicken is fine and so is raw chicken. However never feed cooked bones because they can splinter. Raw bones are fine and actually have to be included in a balanced raw diet. If you boil the chicken you could cut it into small pieces and feed together with the kibbel. Raw chicken or meat should be fed as s seperate meal, not mixed with kibbel.

Agree with the above, but to add that boiled chicken all by itself as a meal probably isn't a good idea...not enough vitamins/minerals in it, but added to a balanced meal it is just fine.

i have been curious about this myself. so the chicken bones don't splinter when they are raw? Can you explain this more for me. i never thought to feed my pup raw food until reading some of the post about it and am considering it now for one of her meals every day. but have been conserned about the bones of the chicken.

thank you guys so much ! i tried the boiled chicken breast cut up in chunks and gave it to him with his nutro max. HE LOVES IT ! :) he has never finished a full serving of just the kibbles. he usually eats some come back and eat a little more then i pick his food up because i dont want to leave it down all day. but with the chunks of chicken breast boiled he ate all of his food and was looking for more ! now he is sleeping like a baby :) i was afraid to try the raw chicken with the bones even though they are the small wings. but maybe tomorrow he can try that :)
