Hello, I haven't posted here in a while but I need some answers. My boy Bob is about 20 months old and is very obedient inside the house and when we go out to the park. Sits and stays, comes when called ect.... My problem. Bob will be goofing off and not paying attention to anything until the front door opens. He lulls you to sleep and like a flash of lightning he'll bolt out the door. He'll knock you down if he has to. That's not the worst part. Once outside he becomes deaf and blind all my training goes out the window. I have to hunt him down and try to keep him from scaring the neihborhood. Bob would never hurt anyone and has a very lovable disposition, but seeing a Boxer coming at you that weighs close to 100 lbs can be quite intimidating. I spend alot of time training him and thought I gave him alot exercise by taking him out to the park to run nearly every day but he's driving me nuts. Help me.

The run out the door game - great fun for a Boxer  Bob just needs to learn to wait at the door, and not go outside unless he is given permission. Easier said than done of course. At least with Bob's general good manners, and past training, you will have a much easier time with this than others would do :)

Here is a previous thread that might help:

In the short term while he is being trained, if you can, set up something so he can not bolt our the door.

All the best with this :)
