What a great idea! I have never heard of it, they should post it in vet office's. I will mention it to my vet, the next time we are in! Thanks for the info, and laugh!! Seduce.. hahaha!! :)

If you're interested in having your dog be a blood donor try checking in with the veterinary emergency clinics in your area as well as with your own vet. The emergency clinics often have a more regular need for blood and can use all the donors they can find.

Me too :o)

I work at a Vet clinic part time .....my dogs are sometimes blood donors too ..... My Shelby donated last week .... We always use employee dogs ... one of my co-workers has Danes ...we use hers alot , they are so big you can get blood out of there leg instead of neck...so it's much easier on them :o)

I had never heard of this until my first Rottie, Cazzi got sick suddenly at the age of 8. She actually had to have 5 transfusions in the course of a week. What she ended up having was a blood marrow disease. Unfortunately we still had to put her down. :( However I will not forget the doggie heros who gave ther blood for my girl. I have always been a blood donor but now I make sure to donate whenever I can. You are doing a wonderful thing. :)

That's a great idea. LOL....I have to laugh at your typo though(I guess it's a typo) "..... sometimes they need to seduce the dogs.....". Did you mean sedate?
Ummm??? "Seducing" your dog... I think that's a different type of donor   That's a hilarious typo! I love the idea of the blood donation though, but mine would have to be "sedated" i'm sure. :)
