Blistery rash seems to be getting worse

So Lennox has a "rash" on his chin. He has had it for a while and the vet reccommended that I wash it with warm water daily and apply antibiotic ointment when it looks worse. The vet gave no insight as to what this could be and thought it would go away quickly. This was about a month ago. Recently the rash has gotten worse. It looks like blisters (more of an allergic reaction to me rather than acne, but I have no clue) and seems to be covering more surface area (chin, some neck, snout and joules). He does not seem to mind it, but it looks really uncomfortable. Of course it is Saturday and I am beginning to panic some. We use stainless steel bowls and wash then once a day.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do for Lennox until I can get him to the vet?
Does this sound serious? (I have never had a dog before and have no clue what may or may not be serious)
What could it be?

Lennox and I appreciate any suggestions or help.

rash

rocky had little blisters on his chin yrs. ago we found out he had a reaction to his rubber feeding bowl and rubber toys. we went to latex toys and stainless steel bowl. hope this helps

That is what we have been thinking as well. We are hopeful that it is not something more serious. We are in the agonizing process of trying to figure out what he may be allergic to, but I can't figure anything out until the rash goes away a little.

Are you using plastic bowls? If so, try the stainless and see if that helps as the previous poster suggested.

Try washing the pups face every time they eat and after coming in from outside. This helped with Lily a lot. She actually looked forward to it after each meal. Washing after coming outside will help to keep the grass juices and the pollen out of the pores too.

Some of this puppy acne can look worse than it is. It does "blister" up and will bleed if bumped or broken open. However, it does fade as the pup grows to adulthood.

You can also rub some neosporin on the area but make sure it doesn't have the pain reliever added to it. Just plain original neo.

It will take quite a few weeks if not months to clear this up. So keep trying to keep the muzzle clean of any dirt or food. Keep food and water bowls clean every meal. And use some neo twice a day.
