Rockit has had sore paws since the day I took her in last year in November. They started out as open sores and that was treated with ointment. However, over the months the sores closed up with these blisters and they have since started to look wildly out of control. The blisters no longer stay just at her toes, but some extend and twist out. My mother warns me that surgery may be needed. I was just interested to know if this is a common problem with boxers? Sore paws that is. And if the blisters she has are considered somewhat normal for this sore paw situation. I don't know if this site allows us to post pictures on the threads--just to show what her paws look like. But just to give you an idea of how I'm afraid this is affecting her...Rockit has walked on three legs from the month of December to know. She doesn't always walk on three, but she does it quite often. And the paw she doesnt walk on, isnt always the same. She alternates between all four.

It could be a yeast infection. My first girl had them and her paws would get red and sore. She would bite at them. Hers was caused by a food allergy. Also some dogs get a secondary staph infection. Which would need antibiotics. Yes, you can post pictures of the sores, and it might be helpful for others to see if the recognize what is going on. I would like to ask what food are feeding? As I said my first girl had food allergies and it took quite a while for me to find a food she could eat. My first suggestion would be get her on a grain free food. Taste of the Wild is reasonably priced and is grain free. Others have dogs that are allergic to specific types of protien (meat) so they have to adjust for that.

I never had this issue but hope your pup gets better. See what the vet says. It could be a yeast infection or even allergies, but the vet would be the best bet. Keep us posted hopefully its nothing,

I would check the vet's opinion first. I will share about my Buster - when he came to me his pads were pretty scary looking. All red, sores, blisters and bleeding. He had a severe case of urine/acid burns on his pads and we assume he was stuck in one place for a very long time for them to be in this condition. He couldn't walk on cement, only soft grass or dirt. When it snowed, he screamed, actually screamed in pain! He'd go do his business and then when the pain kicked in, he would crawl screaming back to me and I had to carry him back into the house and apply warm compresses right away. It just broke my heart. Snow flakes were like shards of glass on his paws. It took many, many trips to the vets, tons of meds and topicals and nothing relieved him. Then it was suggested to apply "Musher's Wax" on his paws to protect them. Well, about a month later, his paws were all healed up!!! No blisters, no blood, not one sore. They were soft and smooth and he ran in the snow without one peep! If you don't get any diagnosis from the vet, yeast infections, etc....then give this stuff a try. I have also heard of using "Teat/utter Cream" that they use on sore cow utters, but haven't used it.
