Boxer Pal
Hi,my Boxer is 8m. old,and I have noticed that all of her white toenails are red under surface right where they meet her toes. They don't seem to bother her(no licking, chewing) but stains are always there as if they were bleeding.First time today I noticed blood on the snow, and it was from her toes right on the joint with toenails.Yes outside is a lots of ice and snow, but she had those stains even before the winter on the same spots where she was bleeding from today.I was thinking why is that and I guess it`s either from digging on ice and snow or her toes were frozen and from running start to bleed. But since she had those stains from before it might be anything to do with demodex
(mites) she was diagnosed a few weeks ago. Now is on Ivermectin.Did anybody have the same problem with their Boxers?

There is another thread about a Boxer who was digging so much that she/he wore their nails down until they are bleeding. That could be what your pup is doing if she digs a lot.

One thing I would suggest would be investing in some Soft Paws nail caps. They are silicon caps that you glue on over the nails. It will help protect the quick when she digs so that they don't bleed. You can get them from http://www.softpaws.com
