bladder control

We have a six month old boxer, and I was wondering when should he gain full bladder control. We want to eventually not have to leave him in his crate while we are at work. We are able to come home for lunch, so he is only in there 4 hours at the most. I know each dog is different but when shoud he gain his full bladder control?Thanks.

I’m assuming by “bladder control” you mean being able to hold it for long periods of time
I have been able to crate Xena for at least 8 hours since she was 8 or 9 months old so you may not have a long way to go

We cut down/stopped crating Betty when we were out for the day when she was around 9 months old (she is now 11 months). She is great for the most part, but we do occasionally come home to some mistakes.

Just a note. Be sure to keep him comfortable with his crate even after you start leaving him out. We find it more difficult to get her in there now...
