bladder control outside of crate?

Our puppy Bella can hold it (pee) for several hours in her crate (she's never had an accident in her crate), but when we're home in the evening, she is asking to go out about every 30-45 minutes!! It's sorta driving us crazy. She is about 8 months old. Is this normal? How can we get her to hold it a little better/longer when she's not in the crate? I don't mind taking her out if she needs to go, of COURSE, but I'm just wondering if this is something she'll grow out of, or if she might have something wrong with her bladder? I haven't noticed her drinking water excessively either.

Is she just asking to go out that frequently but not peeing? Or is she actually urinating every time she goes out? How much (volume) does she go each time--just a dribble or a full pee?
