I've noticed my puppy seems to like cords and a friend told me to use bitter apple, which I was amazed how much the puppy disliked the taste. I could take a cord and put it next to her mouth and she would jump right on the cord and go to heaven on it, I would take the cord outside spray bitter apple and then give it back to the puppy and the puppy would take one bite/lick and walk away instantly. I sprayed a lot of things with bitter apple that I didn't want it to chew up....

But my question is there a home remedy for bitter apple? It smells just like pour rubbing alcohol and the first ingredients is water and the second is rubbing alcohol and was wondering if I could just make this myself or if there's any easy home remedies? Searching online and some recommended white vinegar.

All i have seen on the subject other than what you have said is Tobasco sauce but I dont think that'd be a good alternative. Its probably more expensive in weight and it probably stains. Not to mention the potential health risks. Perhaps try the vinegar, if it doesnt work then youre no worse off. The root of the problem probably needs to be addressed though. Dogs need to chew, that you cant help. When you catch him in the act, redirect him to a "legal" chew toy. Have at least a hard, soft and in between toy. When he mouths his toy praise him for it. Be vigilant and consistent and after a while it'll be a thing of the past.
