Bitten twice in a day, before next time does anyone know what is the proper thing to
...do at this horrible moment so as the baby won't be damaged mentally and physically...?

I feel horrible blaming myself I couldn’t predict these two moments in a row… Yesterday evening more than ten dogs attacked Cybe and multiple bit him everywhere especially on feet and back. These dogs were friendly but one was constantly barking scaring Cybe. Finally Cybe felt more comfortable… when the “leader” chased him and all the dogs followed ignoring their dinner which was just served from a woman who was taking care of them… I suppose maybe they got upset cause poor baby Cybe was close to their food… I don’t know… I hated every moment and it’s good they didn’t harm him physically a lot. He had lots of wounds but small with one or two deeper.

I went to the pharmacy and got all the normal medicine for wounds plus a homeopathetic one my doctor had prescribed for bites plus Bach remedies for extreme shock cases “Rescue Remedy” and “Crab apple” for "cleaning"

Most of all I am worried about his behaviour because he’s suspicious already enough with other dogs.

I picked the dog up to “save” him, but then immediately left him down and gave him treats…

This morning, the minute he stepped out the house a big dog attacked him (both times all dogs were out of leash)

Again I gave him treats after the owner of the aggressive dog pulled it away and hit it (useless!)
Though he was trembling he ate the treats and didn’t run away… we continued our trip out, came back, eat, played and of course I took care for the second time his injuries… all the time pretending nothing happened…

Did I do the right thing? What should I do…?
I’m terribly scared of big size Cybe getting the other way and become from a frightened dog to an aggressive one. He’s 10 months old now and I heard he’ll be changing in many ways…

How to deal with the situation? What to do in a repetition?

Can you explain a little more? Did it happen in a dog park or on the street when you were walking? Is this your dog or a stray? Just from what you wrote I don't think I would ever go out again with my dog. I would just keep him home away from everything if the neighbor dogs are that bad. If the dog does keep getting attacked he may become mean.

if the dogs are attacking you while around your own home i think i'd have to carry something with me for protection (pepper spray, or a bat or something). or if you can call animal control and make a complaint. that's all i can think of doing in your situation.

How awful! I'm so sorry you and Cybie had to go through that. Giving him the treats as quickly as possible was probably a good move.

From what I have learned, you obviously want to avoid such situations in the future, though I realize you certainly did not ask for this to happen. Too many attacks will cause the dog to feel "uncertain" and "untrusting" of others and he might become aggressive.

I know with a dog that has become aggressive or "unsure" of orther dogs I have read you should take yummy treats along on your walks. When another dog approaches, give treats to your dog and you can say something like "see the nice doggie?" in a really soothing voice. This is similar to what you did already--giving Cybie treats when still in the presence of the other dogs.

I hope your boy is OK. An attack my 10 other dogs is really scary!

I notice that you are from Athens, My husband and I went there on our honeymoon and saw the packs of wild dogs everywhere, is this what you have been dealing with? I am so sorry your dog has been attacked. I have heard you can carry an umbrella with you and open it in the direction of the dog coming at you, how you do that while holding onto your leash I'm not sure.
Hopefully someone else will have better advice.

If there are no leash laws where you live, carry an umbrella and when another dog (off leash) gets close, open the umbrella and start yelling like crazy and scare the offending dog off.

Hope there are leash laws, however. You should check and if there are, make sure they are enforced where you live.

Thank you BeckyNC, Cybe seems OK, was not scared at all meeting other dogs...
I'm so surprised
I always treat him when meeting dogs, especially scary barking dogs behind the fences... he wags his tail (has little stress) and turns for his treat

Though it's difficult to control myself and not to show my fear when I see a dog coming (on the pulling leash are the worst socialized dogs...) I try hard and I think everything improves by the fact that Cybe is a well socialized puppy...
