Biting the Leash on Walks

I have a great dane who is orally fixated like this :) Some dogs just need something in their mouths. Not a battle worth fighting IMO, just give the pup something appropriate to mouth instead of the leash.

LOL...this thread just cracked me up. When I tried to run the first time with Kona we ended up in a very clumsy pile on the side walk. Apparently run meant "grab leash, dart in front of not so coordinated human and trip them". It was NOT funny then. Thank goodness she's outgrown this habit!!

Dante is very good at jogging. We only do it in very quick/short increments, but I will pick up the pace sometimes to keep him on his toes, and he trots next to me perfectly. Always has. I guess I am lucky. Never had an oral fixation with the leash. lol.
