Biting at paws

My pup has been biting at the fleshy part of his paws for the past few days - not a lot. I've only seen him do it 3 -4 times. I'm a little concerned because I have a friend who's dog was doing this (a lot!) and it was a fungus of some sort. Does anyone know if pups (5.5 months old) do this or should I be concerned?

Chewing paws is often the result of a fungus or an allergy - the latter often food related. A vet will be able to diagnose a fungal problem. Do a search on 'chewing paws' and you'll find many previous threads with info. that could give you some help.
