Biting and Pulling on people's pockets?!

My 8.5 month pup Bogard, had a disturbing scene at the dog park today. He doesnt ever show aggression nor does he ever just bite and pull on people's pockets.....Today he decided to go after 3 different people's pockets and wouldn't let go until i pulled him off them....he didnt hurt anyone, but it's kinda scary. They didnt have treats in there pockets either. I'm not sure what's going on with him as of late. I should mention we have him enrolled in his second series of obedience training. And now that I think of it we had the same episode at training on tuesday. I had to pull him off, say no, and give him a timeout. Timeouts dont seem to work with him though, as he remains so focused and will just go back to doing what he was doing. What else can I do?

I think you are doing the right thing with obedience training. I would specifically mention this behavior to the trainer to get his/her opinion. I am sure that with time this will stop, but you have to nip it in the bud somehow. Make sure you are rewarding him when he does the behavior that you want him to do.

I'm having the same issue with my 10 month old except its peoples socks and shoes (while still on peoples feet) in the house. I reward for good behavior but he keeps doing it. I exercise him a lot. Hopefully they will grow out of it.

Be sure to teach the "leave it" command, where there is a positive reward for leaving something alone. It works for all sorts of things like this.

Socks and Shoes are just too much for Rocky to bear @ 6 months. He really cannot resits them when they have feet in them
