Billysmum
Boxer Insane
Well, I haven't been here for a while - just checked in and saw the thread about our good friend Pam and Miss Ginty - so heart-breaking, but a positive result that the cancer doesn't seem to have spread.
Well Billy will be 8 next Feb but he seems such an old man sometimes. Whichever way we go from our house it is uphill home, and Billy is getting slower and slower getting up those hills now.
His poor old back legs are paining him a bit (for those who don't know, Billy has had 4 crutitate ligament ops on his knees in the past). He has glucosamine everyday, but I think we will have to ask the vet about a painkiller now.
He had become rather fat a month or two back, too many leftovers and too many opportunities to steal Tommy's food. We went on holiday for 2 weeks and when we got him back from the boarding kennel he was lovely and slim and looked so good. We have been making extra efforts to keep him weight down - so no more left overs and we're much more vigilant about putting Tommy's food out of his way.
He's still a daft old thing, kidney-beaning and wiggling his little nub - still singing the woo-woo song, but we often wonder how long we will have him for. I know 8 isn't too old, but I just think that it will be his legs that let him down in the end.
He's getting excited about his next holiday. In 3 weeks he's off to Scotland and he just LOVES Ayr beach and playing in the waves. He will have a wild time - especially when he sees my father-in-law - they adore each other.
So that's our little update - hi to everyone and I must try to come in here more often - I'm just so busy with work and packing for our house move which will hopefully be in about 8 weeks time - before Christmas we hope.
