Just curious- do any of your Boxers do this? When Ronin goes outside to "do his business", it doesn't matter if he goes pee or poop - he always kicks his back feet in the grass about five or six times - like he's SOOOO cool! :rolleyes: Next he get's really hyper for about ten seconds and then he's done and back to normal. It's really funny to watch, but a little too hard on the lawn!

We've had Boxers before (both male and female) but not one of them carried out this bizarre ritual. I have no idea why - he's never watched another dog go through this routine, so can't quite figure it out!

I think it's like wiping their feet. Dusty doesn't wipe very often, maybe twice in a year, but, he hates to be dirty especially face and feet. My boyfriend's boxer did it all the time, even in the snow.



Thanks for the pup pals reply, that was really nice. Your right too,BW is a very special to place to visit. Everybody[human & fur] has made Dusty and I feel so welcome.

I believe they do that to spread their scent around!

Mugsy does that at least once a week. It's hysterical to watch him do this - I don't think he knows how funny he looks. He'll usually do the boxer burn 2 or 3 times after and then he's ready to get a treat.

My Jake does this when he poops only. Cleo never has. When I was house training Jake and didn't get him out in time, I'd always know I was too late because he'd scrape his back paws on the wood floor! I'd be like, oh no, too late again!

Yes! Otis does this!! It's like he's wiping his feet! And thank goodness he does a few laps around the yard burning up that excess energy! Better than in the house!

Sarge does this also, I always thought that it was to cover up his mess.
