so last night on our way home from the park, we stopped of at mcdonalds. bailey got some water while we had a fast & easy dinner. i was about to throw away the last of my burger and dh said ' dont throw that away, give it to bailey' with a look of total horror i replied ' not a chance, im not giving him that its full of all the cr*p of the day. no way im feeding him that!' took me a minute to realise the absurdity of what i'd just said! i was happy enough to feed it to myself & dh, but cant even contemplate the idea of giving it to my dog! i wonder how many of us boxer world folk are the same.......

I can't lie! I feed some of that to Buddy. He gets chicken strips (naked) from Popeyes or Wendy's. He gets burger too. I take off the burger and veggies and throw the bread away. He loves tomatoes and lettuce.

omg, you raise an excellent point. We never give Roxy junk food. We give her healthy treats like veggies, cheese, etc.

I'm sure i would eat a lot healthier if before i ate, ask myself, Would I feed this to Roxy?

An occasional treat of junk food won't hurt them. Just like for humans, the problems come when it becomes a steady diet.

I gave Sascha a mcdonalds cheeseburger for her birthday(no onions of course ) It's the only time she's ever had fast food, and boy did she love it. I would be so much better off if I only ate that junk once a year :D

Whenever I go through the McDonalds drive through I always ask for a dog cookie so that Zoey is less interested in whats in my bag. And just like you, I will gladly eat the McDonalds myself, but would never think of letting her have it! (she did get a french fry once...)
So I know exactly where you are coming from on that!

I was just thinking about the same thing last night. Yesterday for breakfast, the furkids received their kibble (Timberwolf elk and salmon) along with yougart and green tripe. Then for dinner, the had apples and watermelon mixed in with a small medallion of raw rabbit. For dinner, I had Wendys.

I have always said my dog & my cat will eat before I do, and it's absolutly true. There have been many months when I'm eating Ramen noodles, and they both have a seemingly endless supply of yummy food. Oh well, that's the way it should be I think. My bf and I have started saving our scraps of meat from dinner and mix it into our dogs' breakfast or dinner. Plus they get a spoonfull of yogurt mixed into their breakfast. And the cat, well, she's just plain spoiled. Rudy (the cat) runs the house, and she knows it.

That is funny I wouldn't feed mine fast food either! My poor babies they're spoiled but not to that extent! What's the point of feeding premium dogfood then clogging their arteries with Mc Donalds grease Yuck! I must say They do sneak a fry or two from the kids which never goes over well at all!
