I don't bathe Mugsy too often since I don't want to irritate his skin. Every other week, I wipe him down with the waterless dog wipes. I need to buy new shampoo for him. Even though he is a year old, is it still ok to use puppy shampoo for him? Does anyone else still use puppy shampoo on their grown up furbaby?I like that it's tearless and gentle on his skin.

Can anyone recommend a good shampoo (adult or puppy)?

I use the same soap on Aus that my kids use-Gerber Grins & Giggles. It's gentle and hypoallergenic, too. And it smells nice!

I use this great shampoo my mom gave me as a "puppy warming" present. It's called Harry Barker, an oatmeal formula for sensitive skin. It's kind of pricey but the great thing about it is that you dillute it before using and so a bottle lasts forever. Rudy seems to like it...even licks the suds when we give him a bath.

davcor,

Do you know where your mom may have bought the shampoo? I don't mind pay a higher price for something that will last and really works.

I have heard of using baby shampoo, but our vet and breeder both said that they advise against using "people" shampoo - even baby shampoo since it tends to irritate short haired dogs' skin.

I use Earthbath Mango Tango. It's shampoo and conditioner in one and it smells really nice. :)

I'm actually going to try and use Aveeno Baby Shampoo for Sirus. I love their products. The Baby Shampoo is extra gentle, tear-free, and it smells really, really good! It's got a very faint Lavander scent...yummy!
