Best Gift!

First of all, Happy New Year to all! Secondly one of my favorite gifts I got his Christmas was a boxer statuette (actually its an ornament) that my mom painted to look exactly like Charlie Paper!! It even has a red kerchief like he used to wear when I first adopted him. It wasn't the most expensive, but it was certainly the most thoughtful!

Here is the story behind Charlie Paper's name: There's a documentary called War Dogs, about the dogs who served during Vietnam. (I'm a HUGE history nut) In 1969 was a German Shepherd Dog named Paper who served with the 101st (I believe) Paper was said to have intense loyalty and bravery. He was so good at his "job", he saved his platoon multiple times & his handler's life, twice. The first time he took a bullet in the shoulder for him, and made a recovery that baffled all the vets there. To this day the vet who worked on Paper called him a "miracle". The second time Paper took a bullet in the back of his head that would have killed his handler.
I wanted him to be brave, loyal, and love me with everything he has, and so far he's lived up to the name I gave him.

I was mistaken...I looked it up, the war dog "Paper" served with the 42nd IPSD in Vietnam. Just wanted to post correct facts.
