Hi, I'm new to the boards. I am the proud new mom of Spartacus, a 10 week old beautiful Brindle Male. We have had him for three weeks and all is going well. We are keeping him confined to the kitchen when indoors and, of course, I am cleaning up LOTS of pee-pee. He does go on or near the pad, but I'm doing plenty of mopping daily. I was wondering what others use to clean the urine from their floors. I've been using different products like Lysol Cleaner, Pinesol, Awesome Cleaner, etc. Does anyone know if one product is better than another to REALLY REMOVE THE URINE scent from the floor so as not to invite MORE peeing in the same area? Thanks for any help!!

I've used three products that do remove odor and stain. One is "Nature's Miracle" for odor removal. It does work well. For stains and such, I use "CitriSolve" an organic product that cleans like MAD. I get it at my health food store. I have also used "Simple Green" on stains too, which works most of the time.

Good luck with the new pup and welcome to Boxerworld!!

I'm with Dan on Simple Green...good stuff. For general cleaning of stains and odor removal, I've gotten hooked on OxyClean (yes - the stuff from the infomercial, and it really does work as well as they say!) I buy it at Sam's Club considerably more cheaply than the infomercial though. It works wonders on light carpet. :)

Nature's Miracle works really well for carpets, etc. Tucker NEVER peed twice in the same spot using that. On the tile/linoleum I would wipe it up with paper towels and then go over the spot with those Clorox bleach wipes. I agree though that Simple Green works well too.

Simple Solution

We use a product called "Simple Solution" for all our puppy accidents. It is specifically for animal accidents. We have had very good success with it.

We use a water/white vinegar mixture to clean any accidents to help break down the scent. Then will use 409 (or similar) carpet cleaner. Be careful tho, I believe the water/vinegar mixture may discolor light carpet. It looks like it did on a white rug we have, but no problems with our hunter green carpet.
