I have a 5 month old female boxer. She still has some pink bare skin on her belly. Around her last two nipples (toward her rear end) I have noticed that the pigmentation of her skin is changing. It is kind of blotchy. It is changing to the color brown. Is this a normal change much like when the paws turn black, or do you think that this is something that I should go to the vet with. If anyone could help I would be very thankful. ryan

That happened to Bennington as well. It looks kind of like freckles. From the pictures I have seen on this site, it seems fairly normal.

Two of my pups brothers and 1 of his sisters bellies have turned "black". Not really black, more like dark brown. It's not just a slightly dirty color, or even a light tan, it's dark brown. The people who own those pups also own the dad and seem to think it's completely normal. They think my pup is odd for still having a pink/tan belly. I have never seen anything like it.

puppy's belly changing color
That's weird. I noticed that on Tre. His belly changed colors the last couple of days. It was pink when we first got him. Now, within the last few days, it's getting gray in some spots, but, still pink in most. Also, he's gotten more fuzzy hairs down there. It guess it's natural. (hopefully)

I just noticed this too on my Hannah. It started off as freckles and people thought it was dirt as well, now her stomach is more dark than pink. I did not know that it did that. I miss her pink little tummy, but I guess it means they are growing up.

My Maggie's belly is getting spotty also, looks like big freckles on her skin. At first I too thought they were dirt spots on her fur. She's getting a few of them on her muzzle too.
