The post also fit me to a "T". My co-workers think I should get a life, but my baby is my life. I live with my boyfriend so it's not like I have no one. I have not gone out with any friends in ages and I don't want to. I like spending my time with my baby. If I can't take him then I don't want to go. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

;) Dont' take it too hard on what others say....I think you are a very responsible dog owner and your dog is indeed lucky to have you, a person who cares about them and their welfare. Having a dog is a responsibility and also a committment :p

Its great to know how you take care of them and in return, what you get is lots of unconditional love from your best friend :D

I think we are all the same here. We love our dogs and don't ever want them to be lonely. If your's hate their crate as much as mine it's too hard to leave them too often anyway. Some people think that we are all crazy, always wanting to get home and check on our "babies" but I would rather be with my dogs than with some people anyway! They always love you and want your company no matter what!

I love coming home of an evening after work to see our 2 boxer babies come bounding to the back gate, woo-wooing us and kidney beaning. They get so excited to see us, and I love seeing them too. As soon as we're inside they are too - on the lounge, laying on your feet or just sitting there watching you.

I understand that you want to be with them completely! They are our babies and we would do anything for them.:D

I think what you are all saying and doing is WONDERFUL and I couldn't agree more! I agree that taking a walk or just spending time with them is so much more rewarding to me than anything. I love the sentiment about waking up awaiting their sloppy kisses! I found that when Bingo was a puppy I would be out shopping somewhere and would HAVE to get back to him. I literally couldn't bear to be away from him for any longer. I still feel this way today. I think our whole lives are around him and that's just the way it should be. We haven't taken a vacation without Bingo his whole life and he's 3 1/2 ! The most we've left him is for just over 24 hours with a family member but now we'd have to board him if we went anywhere and as badly as I want to go on a vacation, I don't know if I'd enjoy it because I'd be soooo worried about him and I don't really know what it is like to be away from him like that. I don't think I'd have a really good time! He's traveled with us everywhere, he is a member of our family just as much as any humans are.

And about co-workers or others comments or feelings on the subject, I have learned not to share what is important to me with people like that. They don't need to know things about you just so they can then go ahead and say something nasty and judge you for what you just shared with them.....gee can't imagine why I wouln't want to spend time with people like that!!!!!!!!!

I am grateful for Bingo and every boxer I've had every day. What a boring and unfullfilled like it would have been to not have them in it!

I just told my brother that I can't go out to the bars for his bday tonight because Clarice has been alone all day. The best part was that he understood!! I went snowshoeing with him and hiked up with bday cake in my backpack, so I have done my duty to my bro. Now I have to go home and take care of my girl.

Being with Boxers

My wife an I get teased all of the time because we treat our Izzy like a baby. Friends make fun of us because we dont go out anymore. I would rather spend my time with my puppy than at a crowded, smoke-filled bar anytime.
I also hate leaving Izzy in her room for too long. Its amazing how your life changes when you get one of these pups but I wouldnt trade it for anything

And I thought I was bad

When I got my first boxer/first dog it was just he and I in the house. If we went out, we only went to visit people who would let him come visit too! We walked up to the drive thru window for ice cream. I roller bladed while he trotted on leash. Went to beaches to play in the shallow water, went to parades and street fairs. And if a date could not appreciate him, no more dates, it was that simple. I still have a t-shirt I bought back then, it says, "Love me....... Love my dog!
How True!

All I have to say is that I have forgotten what a holiday is, I can't bear to leave my sweet heart in kennels!
& yes we do rush home as quickly as possible to see her there with her wiggly tail and doing her kidney beaning thing and holding anything she can grab quick enough in her mouth i.e remote controller!
Now we have puppys so its even worse, I havnt left the house in over 2 weeks!!!!!! I think i'm going to go mad, & my husband is doing the food shopping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
